Everything! Cultural experiences (temples, shrines, castles etc), shopping, Japanese food, people and hospitality, travelling etc Impossible to put one above the others!
We simply had a fantastic time. We had lived in Tokyo twenty years ago for a couple of years but not travelled much, and wanted our teenage children to experience Japan for themselves (having heard many of our stories many times....) We wanted a variety of things to do: we shopped in Harajuku (and at the Pokémon Centres - Tokyo and Osaka versions!); climbed the staircases at Matsumoto Castle and enjoyed the taiko festival and potteries; bathed, slept and ate at onsen; traversed mountains and dams in the Japanese Alps ; saw the illuminations at Kodai-ji and the amazing dragons at Kennin-ji; enjoyed incredible hospitality at Ryokan Iwaso at Miya-jima and took the night cruise through the shrine gates at high tide; recovered from the blistering heat with the aid of delicious shaved ice; visited Hiroshima on Peace Day, astonishingly moving and inspiring; cycled, swam and experienced the art works on Naoshima; enjoyed yet more incredible hospitality at Uno Port Inn(hi Miko-san!) (and I never even mentioned the incredibly incredible kindness and attentiveness at Hotel Mume in Kyoto). What a pleasure it was to be in Japan as a tourist! I can't wait to go back. I would happily do all of the above again, but would like new experiences too, so will probably find some different places to go. And both our children want to go back (without us!).

A big Thank You is due to Kaoru at JTC for making all our hotel arrangements, and suggesting an itinerary that worked well. Also for providing Japanese translations of phrases you don't find in the guidebooks such as "can we leave our suitcases in your hotel until we return tomorrow afternoon".
Particular highlights for us were staying overnight in a Monastery in Koya-San, travelling by Bullet Train, and staying in a Capsule Hotel in Shinjuku. Not to mention the great food, sushi etc!
JTC kept us well informed of progress in making bookings, and we have no hesitation in recommending them for your trip to Japan.

Spent a very enjoyable 10 days touring the main sights in Japan. The quality of the tour was exceptional. Absolutely everything worked like clockwork and I can't e press my thanks enough to all those involved in putting it together. Hotel rooms and bathrooms are on the small size but everything works and the rooms are exceptionally clean. Japan is a great place to visit because it is incredibly efficient, friendly and safe and I'd recommend it to anyone.

My holiday, to see gardens, traditional steel making (for swords) etc was greatly helped by JT's super local knowledge, ability to find hotels to closely match all my needs, plus their good administration.
The Green Pass was very cost effective as I undertook all my travel in Japan by rail: it was also useful as a pre-bought ticket for local trains, thus avoiding the need to queue up at ticket offices:
The river valley journeys, eg Okayama->Matsue, & Nagoya->Takayama, were particularly beautiful, even when it rained! And in the Green Car one can see out of the front of the train!
All my expectations were met - A big "Thank you"

We enjoyed all of our stay from the kind, friendly and humble people to the numerous shrines, temples, castles and other touristic sites.
The 7 day Japan rail pass was good value with added RED bus travel in Hiroshima. We traveled independently but were late for the Cherry blossom season, but will definitely do the Autumn colors next year.
There were so many highlights but these were the main ones.
Mount Fuji and Hakone tour,Tokyo morning tour and evening hinode pier dinner cruise, Skytree and Tokyo tower,Fish Market, Hirajuku, Ueno park and Museums, Imperial palace and gardens, bullet train journey to Hiroshima city, bomb museum then dinner at sushi tei, picturesque Miyajima, Himeji castle and In Kyoto Philosophers path,Bamboo path,The Fushimi Inari Tori gates,Gion night walking tour and in Nara the deer park. In Osaka the Namba district along the canal followed by sky walk in Ueda. The Japanese culture and Shinto/Buddhism religions and last but not least the sake wine.

Cherry Blossom time is a great time of the year to visit- smells are wonderful from hundreds of trees, great to see local people celebrating this time.
Transport links for city and in fact country wide excellent. JR pass invaluable. Historical sites and shrines wonderful some amazing carved and bronze Buddhas, large and small shrines all had something to offer.Food was great and interesting, thank goodness for picture menus. Japanese accommodation and service and hotel food was wonderful not to be missed! Hiring a car was interesting, thank goodness for English satnav, gave us freedom to explore the coastal regions found a cafe called Ripple overlooking a beach food and views great, but overall The Japanese were extremely welcoming and courteous people. An experience not to be missed - unanimous by all 7 of us in the party. Would call this an adventure not just a holiday.
Would recommend Japan travel agency. I dealt with a member of staff named Sandy who was extremely helpful any requests or alterations were always dealt with no matter how many times she was asked to amend. Nothing was too much trouble.

First of all, the service from Japan travel centre was, in the main excellent. The accommodation found for us fitted our requirements perfectly. We wanted to try a traditional ryokan, but this was our worst experience, in Hakone at the Aura Tachibana. The rooms were fine, but dinner and breakfast were fixed menu and very traditional. We enjoyed Japanese food at other hotels and restaurants but at Hakone it just wasn't to our taste.
As we had paid full board this meant poor value and we had to buy food from local shops. We had 5 days in Okinawa at the manza international resort, and this was the highlight of our holiday, partly because of the facilities and location and also because we had our son and Japanese girlfriend joining us for this part of the trip, to organise things and help us get exactly what we wanted from the trip. We had a potential problem with hiring a car as I had not been advised to apply for the correct international license. Fortuna tely my son's girlfriend was able to step in and she had to drive the car. This was arranged by myself, so no blame attached to Japan travel centre, I just didn't do my research properly.
We saw a lot of what we wanted to see, toured Tokyo by bus, saw mount Fuji, toured the north and west of Kyoto seeing many of the main temples and the bamboo forest.
Weather was a bit unreliable, very spring-like (sunshine and showers).

I had an amazing time in Japan. I was keen to see a lot of different aspects, so I saw sumo in Osaka, walked the Kumano Kodo, visited shrines, enjoyed the capital. I finished by a week in Hokkaido, where I wanted to explore Ainu culture. I cannot speak too highly of the service I had from Japan Travel Centre. They booked my sumo ticket for me and negotiated with hotels that had Japanese-only websites so I could stay where I wanted. They advised me on flights and got me cheap internal flights from Tokyo to Sapporo and Sapporo back to Osaka. No matter how small my request, they replied promptly and always helpfully. It is a big thing to travel so far, but JTC held my hand! As a vegetarian, I found it very tough to eat the way I wanted to and I regularly failed and had to eat fish or meat. It is not a vegetarian-friendly country. Overall, though, I had an overwhelmingly wonderful time.
