Noboribetsu Onsen

Noboribetsu Onsen is the most famous onsen resort in Hokkaido and one of best Onsen resorts in Japan. The onsen naturally produces 10,000 tonnes of water a day. The fountain temperatures rise as high as 45 to 90 ̊C. Noboribetsu Onsen produces 9 different types of spring water containing elements and minerals such as sulphur, salt, aluminium, mirabilite, melanterite, iron, acidic iron, alkaline and radium.

Onsens have been used as therapeutic baths to cure diseases and injuries, and in recent years a great number of people are realising their benefits. Those who enjoy a good health use onsens to rejuvenate their body and mind.
It is highly recommended to stay in a traditional onsen ryokan.

Noboribetsu Onsen

Access: 70 min from Sapporo to Noboribetsu by JR Train and another 10-15 min by local bus or taxi
