The Sand Museum

A short walk from Tottori Sakyu, you’ll find the world’s first open-air museum displaying gigantic sculptures made from water and the sand of the Tottori Dunes. Every year there is a different theme to the sculptures and the one adopted for 2016 features South America. The museum is open from the 15th April 2017 to the 3rd of January 2018.

Access: 20 min. by local bus from Tottori bus terminal to Suna no Bijutsukan-mae bus stop
Admission: 600 yen
Opening hours: 9.00 ~ 18.00 (the sub gate closes at 17.00)
Closed: Early January to Mid-April
