This was a great trip- the itinerary, the route, the variety were all excellent. The arrangements were all very clear, apart from finding the apart-hotel in Kyoto which was a bit tricky from the map. But otherwise it was a perfect combination of help with planning and arrangements but being free to decide what we wanted to do and when. There is only one thing I would have changed - half-day mount fuji tour would have been enough and allowed extra time in Hakone which we liked very much. It was great to see Mt Fuji from a distance, but travelling to the mountain was not very rewarding.

The accommodation was adequate - not unreasonable for the price. The ryokan on Miyashima was outstanding, we had a great kai seki dinner there.

We took day trip to Naoshima art island from Kyoto which was really great experience, beautiful location and fabulous contemporary art to see. Would highly recommend.

For some time now I wanted to write and thank you for organizing our most splendid trip to Japan. We found traveling on the rail pass a breeze, given that we had 2 kids (6 and 8) traveling with us. We loved all different hotels you booked – the locations were perfect, the ryokans were amazing (the food! the onsen!). We didn't know that Japan would deliver such diverse food and cultural experiences. We traveled for three weeks and didn't eat the same thing once. We loved the off-the-beaten-track experiences our longer timeframe allowed – discovering Obuse as a culinary highlight close to Yudanaka, the lunch stop at Shirakawa-go was a treat and everything in between. Miyajima was for me a personal highlight, somehow encompassing the complete Japanese experience: breathtaking landscape, beautiful and quirky shops, and of course, delicious food. We would love to travel to Japan again and hope we can realize this dream, with Japan Travel Centre, in future. 

The week my wife, son and I spent in Japan was the best holiday of our lives. Japan is a city of contrasts, from the busy and futuristic downtown area of Hakata to the quiet and peaceful traditional village of Akizuki. Everywhere we went people were friendly and helpful, and we had no trouble making our way around the country despite our limited knowledge of the Japanese language. The highlight of our trip had to be staying at the Seiryuan Ryokan in Akizuki; the gardens there were stunning, the food was exquisite, and the staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and to see to our every need. It had begun to snow as we arrived, and when we stepped into the dining room for our meal we were greeted with the most beautiful view through the picture window; the koi pond surrounded by snow covered trees was like something out of a fairy tale. We are already planning our return trip for 2019!

Japan Travel centre were very supportive all the way, tailoring our itinerary to my specific requirements and quickly making any revisions I requested, as well as providing plenty of information to enable us to travel to our various destinations within Japan. We will definitely be booking through them again.

Japan Travel Centre supported us with planning our itinerary, flight, car hire and accommodation. Truly the finest travel agency customer service I've ever experienced and I would highly recommend their services.

Train travel is a total delight in Japan - the trains are immaculately clean, plentiful and always on time. Being able to send heavy luggage ahead meant very easy journeys. The Japan Travel Centre booked our hotels (always conveniently located near a train station) and provided maps of the immediate location for easy access. I would like to especially mention the wonderful help of Jessica Asai-Lawrence, particularly when I misplaced the hotel vouchers and she had to email them to me! Culturally, everyone is extremely polite and helpful, everywhere is very clean (no litter anywhere), making Japan a total delight to experience.

We loved Japan and the places we visited were all very different; all amazing. It was our first time in Japan, which is one of the easiest places to travel around. Everything works, and people are extremely helpful. We used trains, buses, boats - and walked. We would definitely recommend Japan Travel Centre for any trip to Japan - Kaoru was so helpful and listened to what we wanted. Everything was perfect! 

As it was our first time in Japan we wanted a varied itinerary. We booked our accommodation  in Japan and Kyoto but then came up against a few obstacles. Fortunately, the Japan Travel Centre was at hand to sort out our difficulties. Kaoru took infinite pains to plan our route and accommodation. At every stage she was most helpful and we would certainly recommend the services of the Japan Travel Centre. Our holiday was indeed varied and we discovered a lot about Japanese life and culture. The highlight of our trip was a stay with a family in Matsumoto; through them we visited places that we would not otherwise have known about. We also enjoyed the Alpen Route which had been meticulously planned by Kaoru. As 70-year-olds, we thought it could be a challenge but thanks to Kaoru and the Japanese people we met it was an outstanding success. We were even filmed for Japanese TV! (See photo.)
