Taisetsuzan Tokachidake Mountain Range, the “roof of Hokkaido”, was silhouetted. It can be around 20 degrees below zero due to radiative cooling phenomena, but the air is crisp.

Because of snow light even it’s before sunrise, the forest of the hill looks like a silhouette, and a half moon is shining over the forest. As it gets brighter, the moon becomes invisible in due course.

The sun rises from the Tokachidake mountain range, and rays of the morning sun came into the snowy field. Then, the pale snowfield was instantly turned into a light purple color.
It is a sub-zero temperature, but it’s felt warm when the sun gets in.

In the central part of Hokkaido, there is almost no sunny day in winter.
The gray winter sky lasts long.
However, when it rarely winter sunny, only the blue and white world spreads and it is beautiful as long as possible.
However, when we had an extremely rarely fine day in winter, there was only the world of the blue and white spreads out and its limitlessly beautiful.

When thin clouds appear in the sky, you may see a large circle of light around the sun, and it’s called a halo.
As this is considerably a big circle, you will be required to use ultra-wide angle lens to capture it properly.

Diamond dust is a ground-level cloud composed of tiny ice crystals, and it begins to sparkle under the sun light.
There are various ways to shine depending on the conditions, sometimes it shine with rainbow colors.
It looks like a diamond literally.

The sun set in the western sky, but has begun to dye in purple with the light of reflection in the eastern sky.
This beautiful time of the day without the shadow called as magic hour, also commonly known as “golden hour”
